One clear number for today

Safe to spend takes your cash, the bills still to come and your savings goals, and shows what you can spend each day until payday. Open it to see exactly how it was worked out.

Scan a receipt. It does the sorting.

Take a photo and Money Cleared reads the merchant, date, total and tax, right on your phone. It suggests a category and tells you why, and it learns from your choices. You check it, then save.

Ready for tax time

Self-employed? Mark each receipt business or personal, then review the year by month, day or category. Export it all to Excel, with the receipt photos if you want them.

Private by design, not by promise

Your financial life shouldn't be anyone's business model.

No internet permission

The app doesn't ask Android for network access, so Android blocks it from sending your financial data anywhere.

No account to create

There's no sign-up and no password for us to lose. We have no server holding your data.

Encrypted on your phone

Your data and receipt photos are encrypted, with the key protected by Android's secure keystore.

Backups you control

Make an encrypted backup whenever you like and keep it wherever you choose. Only your password opens it.

One thing to know: if you choose to add spending by voice, your phone's own speech service turns your words into text, and it may use the internet. It's optional, and the privacy policy explains it.

Questions

Does it connect to my bank?

No. You import statement files from your bank (CSV, OFX, QFX or PDF), add spending by hand, or scan receipts. Your bank login is never needed.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Your data only exists on your phone, so make encrypted backups and keep them somewhere safe. You can restore one on a new phone with your password.

Can you see my data?

No. It never reaches us, because the app has no way to send it and we have no server to receive it.

Can my partner and I use it together?

Household members and fair expense splitting are built in, on one shared phone. Syncing between phones isn't available.

Is it available on iPhone?

Not at the moment. Money Cleared is for Android.
